everyone is so torn up about the ipad’s lack of camera, when they should really be thinking much bigger.
apple has always languished in the business space, targeting students, creative professionals, and the education sectors. the ipad marks the first time apple will be making a product that, from its outset, can be used in the legal, medical, and business fields. in most of these occupations, cameras are a big no-no, due to the sensitivity of patient/client information. this is huge. these types of professionals will finally be able to use a device in a form factor that is conducive to their work and versatile enough to be used anywhere.
add to that the fact that software developers are scrambling to produce ipad apps for these under-penetrated markets, and you’ve set the stage for…wait for it…magic.
